Modern Day Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) contests are growing in popularity. The Ultimate Fighting Championship has grown from a no-holds-barred cage match, to the sanctioned respected venue where professional athletes meet to test their skills against each other. With other venues such as “The King of the Cage”, “Pride Fighting Championships”, and “BodogFight” as well as Spike TV’s reality show “The Ultimate Fighter” gaining popularity , more and more people are becoming interested and seeking opportunities to train in this sport. This is not a beginner level class. To participate in Vanguard Gym’s MMA program, you must have participated in the grappling and striking classes. There is no extra charge for the MMA class, but the skill sets developed during this training build on the skills learned in the other classes. Combining Western boxing and wrestling with submission grappling, physical conditioning, and Thai boxing, our MMA curriculum will get you in shape. Whether you intend to fight in the UFC or just want to get in shape while learning practical self-defense, this is the program for you.
