Vanguard Gym

Vanguard Gym/CrossFit Manassas will be celebrating with it’s fifth annual Holiday Party on December 10, from 7 to 10 pm.  At 10pm we will be putting on UFC 140, so feel free to stick around after the festivities. (http://www.ufc.com/event/UFC140#/fight)

Please sign up for a dish to pass at the front desk, and if you wish to participate in the “Thieves’ Christmas” bring a wrapped gift not to exceed a $30 value.  There will be great food and reindeer games, and every year is a great time for everybody to relax and have a good time.  Let us know if you have any questions!

Next week is Vanguard Gym’s Thanksgiving break!  On Wednesday the 23rd, and Friday the 25th there will be CrossFit at 11am, and open matt till 1pm.  Thursday the 24th we will be closed.  Have a great Thanksgiving!

Mike flew to Long Beach to compete in this year’s IBJJF No-Gi World Championships, and is coming home with the gold. With all but one of his six victories ending in submission, he brings the blue belt medio gold back to Virginia. Mike also recently won the same division in the No-Gi Pan American competition as well.

Great job Champ – your teammates are proud of you and all the hard work you put in is clearly paying off!

Congratulations to Mike Pope in winning the gold at this years No-Gi Pans in New Your City. Mike fought his way thru a field of over forty competitors submitting five opponents and defeating one by a margin of 20 points representing Vanguard Gym and Team Big Brothers. We can’t wait to see how he does at the worlds in November! Mike shows that hard work and dedication pay off!
